Frequently asked questions
What counts toward storage?
All uploaded documents, receipts, and attachments count toward your storage. Bulk files like scanned receipts and bank statements are the main storage drivers — most businesses stay well within their plan's limit.
Does Klaro Books work for my kind of business?
Klaro Books is built for Indian SMEs and traders who need GST-compliant accounting — retail, services, D2C brands selling on Shopify/Amazon, and export businesses. If you're not sure it fits, book a call and we'll tell you honestly.
How does billing work? Do you store my card?
Klaro does not accept credit cards or store any payment credentials. You pay by UPI or NEFT/RTGS after receiving your invoice, which is sent 7 days before the billing date. There is no auto-debit mandate of any kind.
What happens if I sign up in the middle of the month?
You are invoiced on a pro-rata basis for the remaining days of your first month only. If you sign up on the 20th, you pay for 10–11 days, not a full month. Your first full invoice arrives the following month.
What happens if I miss a payment?
Your account is paused on the 3rd of the month if payment is not received by the 1st. Your data is never deleted — all documents, client records and certificates are preserved. The account reactivates instantly the moment your payment clears.
Is Klaro secure? What about 2FA?
Yes. Every account supports TOTP-based two-factor authentication (Google Authenticator, Authy). 2FA is mandatory on firm and partner plans and strongly recommended on solo plans. All files are stored on Cloudflare R2 with SHA-256 hashing. Logins from outside India trigger an automatic 2FA challenge.
