This policy applies to Klaro Books subscriptions. All prices stated are inclusive of 18% GST as required under Indian law.
All Klaro Books subscription prices (Free: ₹0, Smart: ₹1,999/mo, Pro: ₹3,499/mo, Firm: ₹9,999/mo) are inclusive of 18% Goods and Services Tax (GST). You will not be charged any additional GST on top of the listed price. A GST-compliant tax invoice will be issued for every payment.
The Free plan is available at no charge and requires no payment instrument. It may be used indefinitely subject to the usage limits specified in the plan. Klaro reserves the right to modify Free plan limits with 30 days' notice.
Monthly subscriptions are billed in advance on the 1st of each calendar month. First-month billing: If you subscribe on any day other than the 1st, your first invoice will be pro-rated for the remaining days of that calendar month. From the following 1st, you will be billed the full monthly amount. Example: Subscribe on 20 June → First invoice covers 20–30 June (11/30 of monthly price). From 1 July, full monthly billing begins.
Annual subscriptions are billed in full upfront for 12 months. Annual plans receive the equivalent of 2 months free (approximately 16.7% discount over monthly pricing). Annual payments are non-refundable after the 7-day cooling-off period described in Section 6. If you cancel an annual plan after 7 days, your access continues until the end of the paid annual period. No partial refunds are issued for unused months. Annual subscriptions auto-renew at the end of the 12-month period unless cancelled at least 7 days before the renewal date.
Klaro Books is a cloud-based service. Once you have accessed and used the service — including logging in, creating vouchers, running reports, or importing data — no refund will be issued for that billing period. This applies to both monthly and annual plans. The digital nature of the service means the service is consumed upon access, and we cannot un-deliver it. This policy is consistent with the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020 applicable to digital services in India.
If you subscribed to a paid plan and have NOT used the service (no vouchers created, no data imported, no reports run), you may request a full refund within 7 days of your first payment by emailing billing@klaro.services with your account email and reason. Refunds under this provision are processed within 7-10 business days to your original payment method.
You may cancel your subscription at any time from Settings → Billing → Cancel Plan. On cancellation: - Monthly plans: Access continues until the end of the current billing month. No further charges. - Annual plans: Access continues until the end of the paid annual period. No partial refunds. - Free plan: No cancellation required. Your data is retained for 90 days after cancellation in read-only mode, allowing you to export your records. After 90 days, data is archived. Extended retention beyond 90 days is available at ₹499/mo. To comply with Indian accounting standards and GST regulations, certain transaction records may be retained for up to 8 years as required by law, even after account deletion.
Subscriptions auto-renew automatically. We support auto-renewal via: - UPI (recommended — works with any UPI app) - Debit card - Credit card - Net banking (annual plans only) You will receive an email reminder 7 days before any renewal. You may cancel auto-renewal at any time from Settings → Billing without affecting your current access period.
If a payment fails on the renewal date: - We will retry the payment 3 times over 7 days. - You will receive email notifications for each failed attempt. - If all retries fail, your account will be downgraded to the Free plan. Your data is preserved. - You may reactivate your paid plan at any time by updating your payment method.
Upgrades: Take effect immediately. The price difference is charged pro-rata for the remaining days of the current billing period. Downgrades: Take effect at the start of the next billing period. You retain access to higher-tier features until then.
We do not delete your data immediately on cancellation. You have 90 days to export your complete books in CSV or PDF format. After 90 days, data moves to cold storage. We are legally required to retain certain financial records under Indian law regardless of account status.
